“I loved this newsletter. It's great how you break down us readers' resistances to taking care of ourselves, and do it with such a sweet and gentle voice with that touch of humor. Questions like those are excellent tools for re-focusing; getting back on track with what's important and letting go of what's not.”

There’s something about feeling grounded…

Before I head into this go-around of Gentle Nudges, I wanted to say a special THANK YOU. Why? This May 2014 marks the 3rd Anniversary of my professional bodywork career and there’s NO WAY it would have happened or be happening without you. Your presence on my table, your support and feedback, spreading the word about my work, reading these newsletters and even connecting with me on Facebook, Twitter and LinkedIn, is what allows me to do what I feel called to do:

Help people feel better in their body and supported in their wellness
through gentle(r), nurturing, therapeutic touch and education.

So thank you for showing up (not just for me, but for yourself), for your trust in me, and for teaching me loads about so much. Here’s to more!

With that, I invite you to read on. This Gentle Nudge is short and sweet.

I cannot tell you how happy it makes me to hear a client tell me I helped them feel more GROUNDED. Relaxed is also wonderful, but there’s something about being grounded… When I think of feeling grounded, I feel a sense of readiness. I’m ready to live. I’m ready to enjoy. I’m ready to feel. I’m ready to respond to life instead of only react. I can feel the edges of my body; I feel the boundary between me and the rest of everything. I feel more connected to the ground beneath. I’m ready to be ME in the world and to see where life takes me, and where I want to take life.

:: What does feeling grounded feel like to you?
:: What does it mean to you?
:: What contributes to you feeling ungrounded, and what helps bring you back down to earth, in to your body?

For me, some key strategies are receiving bodywork, taking a hot bath, closing my eyes and taking some full, slow breaths, drinking tea, and appreciating nature,

You? Take a minute or two and practice one of your grounding strategies, or schedule some time for it now : )

With love + grounding energy,
Helena
